The Most Aesthetic Choice? Consciousness.

I’ll be honest, I love beautiful things.
But beauty, for me, doesn’t begin and end with how something looks.
It’s in the story, the soul, and the why behind it.

And that’s why I often find myself disconnected from the current culture of fast fashion and overconsumption, the endless rush of sales, the “Add to Cart” high, and the influencer reels convincing us that this one more thing will make us feel complete.
It’s exhausting!
We live in a world where looking relevant has started to feel more important than being real. And truth be told, I’ve felt that pressure too. To buy the bag everyone’s flaunting, to own that viral accessory, to shop from that drop before it sells out.
But then I pause and ask myself: Do I really need this? Or do I just not want to feel left out?

Over time, I’ve realized that trends are loud, but they’re also fleeting.
What’s trending today will be at the back of your wardrobe tomorrow.
And what’s viral now might just become clutter in a week.

Remember that Friends episode? The one where Phoebe discovers everything in her apartment was from Pottery Barn?
Phoebe, with all her quirks and her fierce love for individuality, is upset. She values uniqueness, charm, and things that feel personal… things with soul. But by the end of the episode, even she gives in. The aesthetic, the convenience, the desire to be part of something… it wins.
And it says so much about today’s world, doesn’t it?

Even when we don’t want to be part of the trend, the trend finds a way in.

But here’s what I’ve come to believe: we still have a choice.
We can choose what we let in.
We can choose what we support.
And more importantly, we can choose how we define value.

You are what you consume, and that applies to products, content, and energy.

I’ve started investing in fewer things, but better ones.
Things made with care.
Things that don’t scream for attention but stand quietly with purpose.
I now look for brands that are rooted in sustainability, that support artisans, and that don’t just follow trends but set mindful standards.
I’d rather carry a jute tote with a story than a bag with a logo.
I’d rather wear something handmade than something that’s been mass-produced for the algorithm.

There’s something powerful in conscious consumption.
It’s not just about saving the planet…it’s about respecting your own space, your money, and your identity.
It’s about not giving in to the noise.

And I’m not here to tell people to stop shopping altogether. We all enjoy things, new clothes, accessories, and home décor.
But the point is, can we be more thoughtful? Can we shop with intention, not impulse?

I genuinely believe that consciousness is the new cool.
It’s the new aesthetic.
It’s the one choice that never goes out of style.

So the next time your thumb hovers over that Buy Now button, ask yourself:
Is this something I need? Or something I’ve been made to want?
Will it serve me in the long run? Or is it another moment of temporary thrill?

And if that answer makes you pause, TRUST IT.
Because we don’t need to follow every trend.
Sometimes, standing still in your values is the boldest move of all.

In a world full of noise, clarity is a revolution. Buy less. Choose well.
Stay true.
